The New Reformation Catechism on Human Sexuality by Christopher J. Gordon 

This resource is a modern, pastoral catechism based on the Heidelberg Catechism (1563) that helps to instruct Christians in the truth of biblical human sexuality. It is divided into four parts that cover questions related to creation, fall, redemption, and restoration. This catechism may be used for Bible studies, Sunday school classes, family devotions, and other discipleship contexts.

The Rise and Triumph of the Modern Self: Cultural Amnesia, Expressive Individualism, and the Road to Sexual Revolution by Carl R. Trueman 

This book analyzes the development of the sexual revolution, noting that it is simply one manifestation of the larger revolution of the self that has occurred in the West. Dr. Trueman discusses the key shifts in popular beliefs and explores the background of those shifts, saying that the sexual revolution of the last sixty years “cannot be properly understood until it is set within the context of a much broader transformation in how society understands the nature of human selfhood.”

Gender Ideology: What Do Christians Need to Know? by Sharon James

Christians today increasingly find themselves in situations where they encounter family members, friends, and acquaintances who identify with a gender other than the one they were born with. In this practical guide, Dr. Sharon James looks at how the Bible speaks to the issue of gender ideology, answering questions such as “Can we really change sex?”, “Where did ‘gender theory’ come from?”, and “How should we respond?”

Our God is entirely trustworthy because He is a truth-telling God who never lies (Num. 23:19; John 17:17; Titus 1:2). Yet in this fallen world, the devil spreads falsehood (John 8:44), and false teachers who reject or obscure the truth of God’s Word abound (2 Peter 2:1). For readers looking for a helpful overview of the major cults, this book covers fifteen well-known cults, including Jehovah’s Witnesses, The Latter-day Saints (Mormons), Astrology, Christian Science, and the Baha’i faith. A biblical analysis of each group is provided, along with additional resources, including bibliographies for additional study.

The Final Word by O. Palmer Robertson

In this volume, Robertson addresses the case for the spiritual gifts of tongues and prophecy being in use today, arguing from Scripture that the fascination with these gifts reveals the church’s failure to grasp the fullness of New Testament teaching and the superiority of the revelation of God in Jesus Christ, who is the Final Word for believers today.

A Christian Introduction to Religions of the World by Johannes G. Vos

This short book begins by examining the origin of religion according to the Bible as well as the Christian approach toward those who embrace false gods. The remaining chapters address particular religions, including Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism, Shinto, Islam, and Judaism.

Furthering Study Bibles for the World So far, Ligonier has distributed more than 165,000 Reformation Study Bibles to pastors worldwide. Lord willing, we plan to distribute another 5,000 study Bibles this summer in Madagascar. We are also planning a large-scale distribution in Kenya later this year.

We recently hosted our 2024 National Conference in Orlando.** Thousands of people attended in person, with tens of thousands of others from around the world viewing the livestreamed sessions.

We’ve grown Ligonier’s publishing of books and teaching series** that take students through Scripture and address critical issues facing the church today. Recent releases include Dr. Sproul’s book on the life of Joseph, our Field Guide on Gender and Sexuality, and Dr. Derek Thomas’ teaching series on the life of Peter. We’re also recording teaching series on Mark’s gospel, several lesser-known characters of the Bible, the book of Jude, and the first chapter of Romans for release in the months ahead.

We’re finishing plans for important Ligonier conferences overseas,** including our Belfast Conference at the end of June and our Spanish-language conference in the Dominican Republic in October. Additional planning is underway for conferences in Singapore, the Philippines, and Australia.

Reformation Bible College continues to thrive.** We expect a sizable incoming class of students on campus and in the school’s online certificate program. Additionally, many students have enrolled in the Reformed Classical Education minor, and RBC is set to launch a Career Development Program this fall.

Our Always Ready youth apologetics conferences aim to equip young people throughout North America** to defend their faith in Christ and respond to the world’s untruth with God’s truth. We’ve already gathered with more than 2,200 teens in the U.S. and Canada this year, with several more conferences to come before year’s end.

We just launched a dedicated-language website in Bengali,** making Ligonier resources available in the world’s seventh most-spoken language. Additionally, the Ligonier Statement on Christology is now available in the world’s top 20 languages, plus many others, as part of our endeavors to equip the global church with the truth of Christ.

We’re continuing to record and release new podcasts,** including the latest season of Open Book with Drs. Stephen Nichols and Augustus Nicodemus Lopes.

New Portuguese Website

We are delighted to announce the launch of Ligonier’s dedicated-language website in Portuguese, pt.ligonier.org. By God’s grace, this is Ligonier’s seventh non-English website, bolstering the ministry’s ability to serve growing Christians around the world. This website provides an online library of trustworthy teaching in Portuguese and features newly translated articles each week, book extracts, and historic creeds and confessions. The website will be shared widely by Ligonier’s Portuguese Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram channels. We encourage you to share this new website and these social media channels with your Portuguese-speaking friends and loved ones.

Portuguese is the ninth-most-spoken language globally, known by more than 258 million people around the world, especially in Brazil, in Portugal, and in African countries such as Angola and Mozambique. This year, Dr. Sproul’s book If There’s a God, Why Are There Atheists? and Dr. Sinclair Ferguson’s book By Grace Alone have been released in Portuguese. Additional titles will be available in the future.

Proclaiming God’s Holiness

The Holiness of God, Dr. Sproul’s classic video teaching series, has been dubbed in Hindi. This is Ligonier’s first Hindi-dubbed teaching series, and it is now available freely on Ligonier’s new Hindi YouTube channel. Hindi is the third-most-spoken language in the world. Our Hindi-dubbing project serves Ligonier’s growing audience in India, where Hindi is an official language.

In addition, Dr. Sproul’s book The Holiness of God was recently published in Farsi, the language of the Iranian people, and his book Chosen by God was released in Arabic at the Cairo book fair during the summer.

Answering Questions Worldwide

For fifty years, Ligonier Ministries has sought to provide clear, trustworthy answers to people’s biblical and theological questions. To help make many of these answers available to readers around the world, our international outreach team is prioritizing the translation of Dr. Sproul’s Crucial Questions booklet series into many different languages.
